EducateDallas PAC Endorses Dan Micciche

Today Dan Micciche (pronounced “Mitch-kay’) announced that his campaign to serve as Dallas Independent School District Trustee for District 3 has been endorsed by EducateDallas PAC. “EducateDallas has shown a real commitment to improving DISD,” said Dan Micciche. “This endorsement adds to the momentum of our campaign. We are committed to make DISD an excellent place where every child in Dallas receives a first-rate education, and I am so pleased that EducateDallas has endorsed my candidacy.”

EducateDallas is a non-partisan general-purpose political committee dedicated to the mission of working to elect high quality candidates to the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees. EducateDallas is comprised of a diverse group of citizens from across the City of Dallas, supported by the Dallas Regional Chamber, who insist on improving public education for all of our children.

“Dan is the kind of guy that refuses to be satisfied with passive progress,” said EducateDallas CoChairman Mark Melton. “He’s willing to roll up his sleeves and do the hard work on the ground that is necessary to create a system where our kids can be successful. He saw that the children at Fannin Elementary needed help, and the next thing you know he’s organized a coalition of his coworkers to provide ongoing services to those children in need. He now sees a need for the District to better serve all of its students, and he’s once again stepping up to take on the challenge because he cares about the children that are falling through the cracks in the current system. Dan is exactly the kind of thoughtful, common sense sort of candidate we need on the Dallas ISD School Board.”

The touchstone of the Micciche campaign is ensuring that the interest of kids is considered first in every decision and policy enacted by the DISD School Board. Specifically, Dan Micciche believes that by engaging the larger Dallas Community, DISD can be a school where every child receives an excellent education and where tax dollars are wisely spent. “I am humbled that the amazing group of community leaders in EducateDallas support our vision for DISD,” said Micciche. “Dallas needs world class schools to be a world class city. I believe that by working together we can transform DISD.”

Mr. Micciche is a partner at the law firm Akin, Gump, Straus, Hauer & Feld. He has been recognized by D Magazine as one of the Best Lawyers in Dallas, by Texas Monthly as a “Super Lawyer,” and as one of the “Best Lawyers in America.” He has lived in Dallas since 1981, and has been a resident of DISD District 3 for over 17 years. He has been actively engaged in improving DISD for the past seven years through the Akin Gump School Partnership Program with Fannin Elementary. DISD District 3 is located in the White Rock Lake Area of Dallas.
